I’m Whitney — but most people call me Whit — and I’m North Carolina born and raised. Whit Sloan Photography began long before it became a business. Growing up, I was always drawn to creativity, fashion, and capturing moments through photos.

When I was 14 years old, my cousin picked up photography and invited me to tag along while she photographed weddings. At first, I was simply her model, but one day she asked, “Hey, want to second shoot this wedding with me?” Of course I said yes — and from that moment on, everything changed. What started as a fun hobby quickly became my dream job.

A few years later, when my cousin decided to step away from photography, she gifted me all of her camera equipment. I was 17 years old, and I will forever be thankful for that moment because it’s when I truly started dreaming big. Since then, I’ve spent countless hours watching YouTube videos, investing in education and mentorships, learning through trial and error, and growing both creatively and personally.

Now, years later, I’m continuing to grow a business that has become so much more than photography to me. It has introduced me to incredible people, taught me valuable life lessons, and helped me discover who I am. Looking back, I truly believe God had this path planned for me all along.
